Why is it that you feel 'bhakti paravasam' when MS sings a song and feel nothing at all when someone else sings it?

Good question. Probably b'cos MSS didnt do it for the money - she really WAS bhakti-full (to coin a word)... if you know what I mean. You could hear the sincerity in her voice.
Shyam: AS usual, she's hit the proverbial nail on the head....
I think I read in RD that once she was singing in somebody's house in the US, and some renovation was going on upstairs. Despite the disturbance, she continued. When she stopped, some workmen came downstairs and asked her why she had stopped, and to please continue!
Lak: I can imagine that. It may sound cliched but she (meaning her music) was really a bridge between the human and divine.
