Desi view

I see a little bit of India daily on TV.
No, not in the news, unless 500 people have died in a train accident or there has been a tsunami.
But during the ad breaks on news time.
I see our own Ash in the L'Oreal ad.
And I see Richard Gere in Rajasthan, in the VISA ad.
Three cheers to globalisation, to the power of people - the power of a billion (give or take a few million).

Hi L,

Why TV. You see yourself on the mirror, you will see a lot of India in it. The power of the billion, the resilience, the spirit, ability to communicate, everything will be visible in the mirror.

Believe me I am not sarcastic now as well as in my comment to your previous post. Thats the real me and I cannot be any worse.

Yeah, much as I find Ash artificial and plastic, it is fun to see her in ads abroad.. :) She also featured on the Oprah Winfrey show a year back.. and I believe also on 60 minutes.

Hari, Thank you, that's one of the nicest things said of me. Proud to be Indian!!!

Vid:
Yup, Ash ain't my fave person too. But still, she shows me a bit of India...

Ash as an interviewee is the world's worst coy-giggly-ohSOconsciousofherlooks combination. Cant stand her "acting" - whether in an interview or in movies. Did you see "Bride and Prejudice", Gee? Nauseating. Couldnt watch more than a couple of minutes.

Yo,

But you will have to add a few million. :)

Shyam: Absolutely, she is so not-natural in interviews. Tries too hard I guess. SAme with her acting, so not natural.

Diana: The idea seems popular. Howz ur course coming along? Done yet?

Confused: That was just for effect - or course, we'll only have to keep adding milllions, can never take a few away, can we....

Ash is rather pathetic:) I saw the Oprah show, she was introduced rather badly. If i remember right Oprah said something like "You may not have heard of her " :)

Thangai: Yup, she sure is. Saw her on the David Letterman show and she totally and thoroughly embarassed me. Even here, her introduction was the same.
