Is it…? Yes, it is Ganesha, but not as we know him

The pits. PC gone crazy. How can Pillaiyar be Pillaiyar without that distinctive 'thoppai'? A slim Ganesha???? With 6-pack abs?

Anyways, a happy Vinayaka Chaturthi to you all. And the Ganesha I know and love at home still has his paunch intact.

Shyam: dunno what's wrong with the link, will see if i can fix it. as for Ganesha, well maybe changing with the times, but doesn't mean i have to like it;-)

No no, I haven't seen anything like this before. They should keep Lord Ganesha idols the same.. he need not move on with times. Hope you had a good Vinayaka Chaturthi celebration.. we had one at home (you get painted mud Pillayars here, like in Maharasthra).. but of course the festivity, loud music and Ganeshas at every street corner were missing..
Ganpathi bappa morya!

Vid: Glad to see you agree - the thoppai is half the charm!
